Heading into the actual 2010 season what team scored the fourth most points in the preseason? Your Buffalo Bills. The three teams ahead of them? Cincinnati (played 5 games) the Saints and the Packers.
Granted you can't take much out of the preseason but if it meant nothing why are the top 3 teams suppose to all have dynamic offenses this season? Coincidence? Probably, but this Bills offense may be better than most think.
On the flip side however, the Bills allowed the second most points in the preseason only behind the Bengals. We can take these stats for what they are worth, not much; but are we looking at a Bills team that will actually score a lot of points and be relatively exciting to watch? Things are trending in that direction.

Remember in 2008 when the Detroit Lions went 4-0 in the preseason? Remember that outcome? They went 0-16.
ReplyDeleteThe offensive stats are meaningless. The concern is the defensive statistics. This team has yet to adjust to the 3-4, and they probably needed more than four preseason games to get it together. It's going to be an ugly season.
haha that makes zero sense, the win loss has nothing to do with anything in the preseason, also why would defensive stats be more importatnt that offensive stats?

Janis get a clue, the defensive stats are more important because that's the only relevant component of this team. Contrary to popular belief, we actually have competent players on defense that know what they're doing. Their problem is the 3-4, which they proabably won't figure out until 2011. And then they'll have tons of time to figure it out during the lockout.
ReplyDeleteThis offense is awful. Evans will never get the ball, Checkdown has no confidence, and Spiller has no offensive line. And yeah, New Orleans and Green Bay being ahead of us in the stats is just that: a coincidence. No sense in comparing playoff teams and Super Bowl champions with this disgusting underperforming franchise that isn't going anywhere. 4-12, blow this team up.

ReplyDeleteI don't concern preseason stats. Yet the Bills offense looked capable. The run defense looked awful. McKelvin I think showed that he's going to prove worthy of the spot he was taken. The Bills offense actually looked coached. Setting up plays rather than 1st and 2nd down run, 3rd down pass. The ST looked awful.
