  2. if kaleta is a spark ... the sab's arent going to have to many fires this winter ... put him on the first line? come on ark ... let's get serious. its a feel good story bc the kid is from WNY, but lets get serious, if the team wants to win, we need goal scorers. Yea he adds a little excitement to the game for his big hits, but those do not count as goals. And I'm sure that when Vanek or Tin Can see's those hits, they are not like "oh man, now I feel like playing"

  3. i like to think of myself as somewhat of a rational and intelligent person so i agree that putting patrick kaleta on the first line on a full time basis is a bad idea. putting him out for a shift or two is not a bad idea to see what he can do. i know that you've personally seen ottawa play against us and thus, you've seen that there isn't a player or collection of players that can contain the line of spezza, heatley, and alfredson. that line didn't even exist last year in the regular season or in the playoffs with everyone's beloved drury or briere still with us. you saw the numbers that those guys are putting up against the sabres.
at worst he's a better fourth line player than peters could even remotely come close to.

i will say it again. if u want goal scorers... you should've thought about that when you put together lines 1,2, and 3. good luck finding it

  4. i agree that he should be playing infront of peters ... the only thing he does well is guest bartend at liars ... he might be good in the locker room, so keep him, just dont play him.

hitler couldnt even stop that line. fine put kaleta out there mid second period to see what can happen, but not a full time thing.

i agree with u that our 1,2,3 lines suck that why we need to package a deal and get a trade going. or just mix up the lines big time.

the problem is the nhl has finally adapted to the sabres style of play, a style that the sabres were ahead of then most of the nhl, besides NJ who will always play that trap zone triangle thing. Speed and moves dont work anymore.
Look at last year. Hell of a year for the 716'ers, but come playoff time we were undersized and over matched. Its time to get some scorers with size. no more max flying around the ice, brining his team offsides. no more soupy spin move. no more vanek pull through. no more tin can just getting sick with it. it dont work anymore.

ark you are a very smary guy, im not disagreeing with what you say, im just altering it.

lets put a moratorium on sabres podcasts till they are back in the playoff hunt.

  5. Thank god for coast and schrum or this blog would suck ass. Ark, I don't know who you are but you lost all creditability the moment you said Kaleta was a good skater. Kaleta is a poor skater, always has, and always will be. He is a role player, he has a chance to be a great role player, if his skating was anywhere near being decent, he would have been on the team this year in October. Peter is useless as this post.

  6. Janis, I'm sorry didn't you play soccer your whole life? I'm waiting for a blog about the MLS? Where the fuck is the blog about the Metro Stars and DC United? Janis, can't you admit, Schrum and coast have better posts than you? They are clearly more entertaining than you.

  7. if by bad skater you mean consistently putting opposing players into the boards and finishing off checks then i agree he is a bad skater.

i have a tendency to believe that the monetary issues surounding kaleta have hindered is bringing up to te big leagues but obviously your elaborate view has shed new light on my argument.

did anyone notice that chris neil payed on the same line as spezza and heatley after kaleta put corvo through the boards? if im wrongplease tell me but i thought they were together the 1st period

package kalinin, max, timmy c, lydman for any rock solid defenseman whowont make idiotic mistakes or like mister sixfoot100 says... a big, physical scorer.

welcome back to nhl 2002 hockey fans!

  8. t vanek = biggest waste of money ever...however the sabs cant trade him cuz of the deal they made...

expendable players that could be traded- max, campbell, kalinin, pommer

package any of those guys and you could get a solid scorer or top defensemen

where is mike grier when ya need him?

    ReplyDelete
  9. only reason to trade campbell is if the sabres are not going to sign him to a deal.

last i checked campbell has the 8th most pts for a D, 5th in A for D, logs the 12th most minutes for D, has the fewest PIM of any D that actually plays (2), and has had to play at times with Paestch and Pratt which is why his +- is only +3.

but mr. anonymous does make an awesome point to trade him/ package him for a top defensemen. go fuck yourself
