Stephen Strasburg descends on Buffalo

by Steve

Buffalo will be the center of the baseball world tomorrow and if you're within 120 miles you better be there. 21 year old phenom Stephen Strasburg will be making his final minor league start at Coca Cola Field at 1pm Thursday. This game will be the third most exciting event in Buffalo sports this year. (1 is the Bills home opener and 2 was the Sabres first home playoff game in three years back in April)

This dude is a straight up stud. The 6'4 right hander is already worth $15 mil and hasn't seen an MLB mound yet. He throws 100 mph and has an ERA of 1.27 in five AAA starts. When else will you be able to pay $7 to see such a stud pitch? And when else would I write about anything regarding the Bisons?

Expect huge lines at the will call window so print the tickets from the Bisons' website. According to the Buffalo news 10,000+ tickets have already been sold. Who knows maybe they'll actually sell out a game purely for the baseball and not a mascot for the first time seemingly in years.

  2. He's already worth the 15 mil? If he were a NFL player people would be bitching about his salary without ever pitching an inning in the majors. Bryce Harper will be a superior player to Strasburg. In a few years and after a few more top 5 picks people will say the Nats have great management just like they do for the Rays. Get top 5 picks 10 years in a row a team should be good on accident. Unless they're Pittsburgh or KC.
