The sham BCS games announced

by Steve

Classic bullshit money wins out crap we are fed every year by the all knowing computers and uber rich elite of the NCAA. They put money and the all mighty BCS conferences ahead of anybody and everybody. TCU v Boise st? Give me a god damn break. It is obvious the determining gods of the BCS didn't want any part of a non-BCS team beating a BCS school in an embarrassing major bowl game costing their precious schools money prestige and recruits. So lets make sure one of 'em loses.

It is beyond a shame. This was so predictable. I would be irate if I was a coach or athletic director in a 'smaller' conference not allotted the big bucks of the BCS 'super' conferences like the Big East and ACC. Give me a fuckin break. It isn't even just that game.

Instead of having a playoff to determine a true champion the public is stuck wondering truly who is the best team in the nation. There are five undefeated teams. They put powerhouse Florida against Cinci to ensure a loss for the Bearcats who have to go down south, play in a dome sans weather giving them a severe disadvantage. They put the two non BCS teams against each other ensuring another loss. This in turn then hurts the winning team's ranking because they only beat another non-BCS team.

The championship game in which Texas faces Alabama is another sham. Texas should have and probably did lose against Nebraska. Save for a clock snafu, Texas would be in the chikfela bowl or some bullshit. But no, they'll get creamed by 'bama in yet another awful championship.

So lets celebrate! The rich get richer and the rest stay poor, fuck 'em right?

  1. Cincinatti is a spread team that should play better in warm weather. Texas was the best team in the country last season and got shutout of the championship game. Their was a second left on the clock. If they would've lost they're still going to a BCS game, Iowa probably isn't. TCU and Boise want to play in better bowl games and get more respect? Have a better SOS. TCU SOS is 75th. Boise is 92nd. Cincinatti has more of a claim to play in the championship than either team. Who did TCU beat all year? Clemson and Utah? Boise beat Oregon and nobody else.

  2. I think its pointless to argue over which undefeated team is best instead of letting their play decide it on the field.
The BCS clearly only cares about making money, otherwise how do you explain that this is the only sport in div 1,2,or 3 that doesnt have a playoff system to determine its champion.

    ReplyDelete
  3. TCU wants to complain then play some teams. Not little sisters of the poor. Cincinatti has the biggest gripe. Every sport is about making money don't kid yourself. Nobody wants to watch TCU play whatever direction state U they play and beat by 60. People want to watch Texas vs Oklahoma.

  4. Commenters 1 and 3 are full of shit. Boise State HAS BEEN TRYING to schedule games (home/road/neutral) against BCS conference teams and nobody wants to play them. It's not BSU's fault that BCS teams reject their invites because they're a bunch of fucking pussies that are scared of getting beaten on their own turf by the Broncos. Boise, TCU, and Cinci can only play the teams that agree to play them on their schedule. Are the Minnesota Vikings victimized by the fact that they have played a joke schedule so far this year? No, and neither should any undefeated team in D-1 football.

  5. actually i want to see undefeated non-bcs teams play against undefeated big BCS teams, what happen to oklahoma when they played boise? LOST

all it is, is the BCS protecting their money and their records

  6. Don't use that pussy shit. If Boise St wanted to play with the adults they could. Boise beat Oklahoma in a bowl game and Utah has had two impressive showings in bowl games. Hawaii got clubbed like a seal. If they want to gripe play some teams. It's horseshit that the best they can do is Uc-Davis.

The playoff system doesn't appear likely. Even in the +1 Boise St is out. Comparing it to pro football is laughable. Boise can dictate a portion of their schedule. Florida, USC, Texas, 'Bama don't have to schedule big non-conference games.

    ReplyDelete
  7. "If Boise St wanted to play with the adults they could...If they want to gripe play some teams... Boise can dictate a portion of their schedule."

    Can you not fucking read?

WHAT IS BOISE STATE (or any other non-BCS powerhouse) SUPPOSED TO DO IF BCS TEAMS REFUSE TO PLAY THEM? How much clearer do you need it? Boise WANTS to play a tougher schedule and BCS teams are refusing to play them.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Make it happen. Boise St is an above average team in a shitty conference. You watch Boise St vs TCU and drink near beer while i'll watch he real powerhouse teams play in Texas and Alabama. Make sure to bitch after the game that they're the real champion. Just like the bitching that the BCS wants only two unbeaten teams at the end. It's the BCS fault if Cincinatti can't beat Florida. The best Boise can do is Uc-davis?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Goddamn dude, I would call your argument weak but you don't even have a fucking argument. The best you can come up with is "keep bitching". Also what's your fixation with UC-Davis? Every team plays weak non-conference opponents, no matter what conference they play in. Why not mention Florida beating up on almighty Charleston Southern or big bad Florida International? Alabama also got a shot at FIU, not to mention North Texas and... wait for it... Chattanooga. Luckily, Bama got to play the Mocs about 15 years after Terrell Owens left them. You don't want Boise, TCU, or whoever else to upset your beloved power conference team, because that would be quite the embarrassment, a la Oklahoma-Boise State from 2 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  10. continued...

a la Utah-Alabama in the Sugar Bowl last year.

"Make it happen." NO, THEY CAN'T "MAKE IT HAPPEN" IF NO BCS TEAM IS WILLING TO PLAY THEM DURING THE REGULAR SEASON.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not sure if anyone has proposed this on the blog, but Boise State should play in the Pac-10 for football and the WAC for everything else. If their program is going to be continue to play at such a high level, they should make it happen. That way, they can play quality west coast teams whether they want to or not.

    ReplyDelete
  12. damn
they could have had some great games this year.
    get the lawyers

    ReplyDelete
  13. Beat teams. Alabama and major conference teams can play weak non-conference teams. Their in conference schedules speak for themselves. TCU strength of schedule 75th, Boise St strength of schedule 92nd. The playoff is a pipe dream. So the NCAA should bypass teams that have played a superior schedule in order to let the little guys in? Cincinatti deserves in over either of those teams.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Also next year Boise has Oregon St and Va Tech. Don't bitch shit after the fact when teams are willing to play. In 2012 TCU will play Oklahoma in 2013/2014 they'll play LSU. Boise play'd a home and home with Oregon yet not with Va Tech or Oregon St. So the bullshit that teams are afraid to play Boise is exactly that.

    ReplyDelete
  15. NCAA is the most hypocritical organization in sports when anything hurts their argument it is all about tradition and old time college football but when it is benefitial to them they stick the non-bcs teams against them selves and keep them hidden away from the rose bowl or other traditional big bowl

    -steve

    ReplyDelete
  16. So putting TCU and Boise in a BCS bowl is hiding them? From who? The Rose Bowl has traditionally been Big 12 vs Pac-10.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You're right. Next year Boise State does play Va Tech and Oregon St. Special thanks go out to those 2 schools for not being pussies like the rest and playing BSU.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sorry I thought the Rose Bowl was traditionally Big 10 vs. Pac-10?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Or Boise just didn't think ahead and are too pussy to try to schedule tough non-conference games. Then after the fact they can bitch about going undefeated and beating 1 team worth a damn. UB had a harder schedule than Boise! It's everybody else's fault and never Boise's. You're defending them like they're O.J. Simpson and you're Al Sharpton. It's their own fault.

The NCAA did them a favor by putting those two teams against each other. One of them now gets to bitch about being undefeated and how they're the real champs. They weren't getting in the championship game. So would you prefer Iowa vs Boise?
